  3. STAT is a program which reads a text file containing columns of numbers and
  4. calculates statistics on them (count, sum, average, standard deviation,
  5. last value, maximum, minimum, range and line number of maxium and minimum),
  6. based on specifications in a control file, and writes the results to an
  7. output file.

  9. There are several files provided:

  11.       STAT.EXE      -- The executable program file.
  12.       STAT.DOC      -- A text file containing documentation.
  13.                        You can edit or print this file.

  15.       CONTROL       -- Sample input, output and control files.
